Charlie moved to Fremont County in 1988 to work as a field instructor with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Previously a high school science teacher near Washington DC, his undergraduate is in biology from the University of Rhode Island.
Charlie guided for NOLS for ten years and owned his own guiding business for another ten while obtaining license as a masters level marriage and family therapist from the Leadership Institute of Seattle in 2000.
In 2011 he began volunteering with the Soldiers Project, a grass roots organization out of Southern California that organizes therapists to volunteer their services to members of the armed services. As a volunteer therapist, and serving on the clinical committee he honed his work with trauma and veterans. In 2013 Charlie and his wife opened the Soldier’s House as an extension of their work supporting local veterans.
Charlie lives with Jennifer and their two dogs in Lander, where he works as a psychotherapist, farm hand to Jennifer’s ranching projects, grandfather and advocate for those in our community that have performed the ultimate service, our veterans.
Jennifer was raised on a cattle ranch just across the Wind River Mountains in Boulder, Wyoming.
While in Sublette County, Jen was a Jill of many trades, working in the medical field, heavy construction, athletic trainer and as a reporter for the Pinedale Roundup.
After moving to Fremont County with her wonderful daughters, Jen bred and raised pack goats, and made cheese for family and friends. She helped found The Soldier’s House of Fremont County with her husband Charlie after working for several years with The Soldiers Project and realizing that there were many gaps in Veteran care and support that needed to be filled.
Jen comes from a long line of Unites States military service starting in the Revolutionary War, and service is deeply ingrained. Her father was a WWII veteran, and she grew up hearing the funny stories about his service in the Philippines. She also heard the terror which he relived in his nightmares.
Supporting those who have given so much is a passion that Jen brings to The Soldier’s House.
Jen and her husband live on a farm in Lander, practicing regenerative agriculture and trying to restore riparian zones on the landscape. She is most happy leaning on an irrigation shovel, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren, watching the brown stubble of winter give way to the tall, vibrant green of the summer hayfields. She supposes that regeneration, restoring balance to living systems, is a theme in her life.

Former Army officer and disabled Vietnam veteran who is originally from New York City and living in Lander, Wyoming, for the last 30+ years. I am a retired healthcare executive who has experienced the medical system as both a patient and administrator.
I got involved with The Soldiers House through my relationship with Charlie Wilson, the founder and driving force of The Soldiers House. We are both pilots and I am a flight instructor so when the effects of PTSD started to get to me I immediately turned to Charlie for help and eventually agreed to use my business and personal experience to further the work of The Soldiers house.
My name is Lori Crump. I'm a born and raised Lander Wyomingite. I am retired from the State of Wyoming, where I served eight years with the Department of Workforce Services and thirteen years with the Wyoming Military Department, where I served as a State Veterans Service Officer in Riverton. I am also a veteran, having served in the United States Army.
I have been involved with The Soldiers House for many years, as the Wyoming Veterans Commission is a strong advocate of The Soldiers House Fremont County. I am also a recipient of some of the services they provide.
I'm new to the Board of Directors, but look forward to serving and helping Veterans and TSHFC any way I am able.
I’m Shauna Williams, a native Hoosier who moved to Lander in 2014 from Joint Base Lewis-McCord, WA, where my husband, Lance, served in the United States Army for over seven years. I am a self-published author, avid reader, and passionate football fan. We are parents to nine children and grandparents to four!
We discovered The Soldier’s House through a flyer at the Riverton VA Clinic. After being discharged from the Army, we realized Lance had manifestations of PTSD that needed to be addressed for the well-being of not only himself but of our entire family. I can honestly say that without the help of The Soldier’s House, our marriage would not have survived. We benefited from counseling, The Soldier’s House presentations, and the care and compassion of Charlie and Jen, who have given their time and energy to the project. I wanted to be a part of this organization because of how much it has given to me.
I am a student at Central Wyoming College in Riverton Wyoming studying in the Computer Technology AAS program. I got involved with The Soldier's House through my professor Matt Herr who put me in contact with the director, Judy as TSH was looking to update their technological presence.
I worked as an intern in a computer repair shop in Pinedale Wyoming from my sophomore year of high school through to the end of my senior summer. I got involved with technology as early as my freshman year when I built my own computer with Christmas money from my parents, since then I have been enthusiastically pursuing a career in IT. I hope to enter the networking and IT administration field, I am pursuing my Comptia A+, Network+, and Security + certifications in conjunction with my Associates degree from CWC.
I enjoy reading and would like to consider myself a life long learner, I enjoy doing just about anything that is new or with a friend. I always enjoy being able to help others and am excited to make use of my developing skills.
